New year, new blog, NEW YORK!

New York.

Dave and myself spent our 1st Christmas together as a married couple and we decided to spend it in the city that never sleeps.

It’s been 7 years since we were last but we could not wait to get back. It really is such an amazing city and with the added magic of Christmas it was a truly unforgettable trip.

One of the many highlights of the trip was a helicopter ride around Manhattan. Seeing the skyscrapers from above and circling the Statue of Liberty was simply amazing.

5th Ave was crazy busy but it was worth squeezing through the crowds to see Rockefeller Plaza, the tree and angles, St Patrick’s, Cathedral and of couse the Saks window display.

The food, the people, the shops and most importantly the atmosphere, New York really has it all. We spent a morning in Arthur’s Ave at the Italian market watch mozzarella being made in front of our eyes, then buys two fresh balls of it. We spent half a day in the always mesmerizing Met. Bike ride through central park,Macys,

walks along Broadway, Chinatown, Little Italy, rooftop cocktails in time square we really packed a lot into the 8 days.

We cooked a traditional Christmas dinner for our family who live out there and for the day brought a little bit of Ireland to the big city and maybe we have started a new Christmas tradition for ourselves! One thing is for sure, we will not leave it so long again before returning to this vibrant city!
